Director's Message
Dear Students,
Welcome to Residential Life at the University of Bridgeport. My staff and I are happy that you have chosen to come to the University and live in our Residence Halls. In our residence hall community, you will find one of the most diverse and welcoming communities in the United States as well as a staff committed to supporting your, academic pursuits, personal growth, and respect for the community. In the Office of Residential Life, we see this as a great opportunity to interact with and learn from students, faculty, and staff with a wealth of experiences, be they, academic, social, economic, cultural, or religious experiences that may be different from yours.
To accomplish the above goal we work with students, faculty, and other staff members to plan and implement educational and social programs and activities that will help enhance your experience as a member of our community. In addition, our staff is also committed to providing an atmosphere where students cultivate positive live-long relationships and connections with other students, the faculty, and staff of the University of Bridgeport.
Each residence hall has a Resident Director, who is the manager of their respective residence hall and will serve as a catalyst for creating a positive residential community. In addition, each hall has a number of Resident Advisors, who are students who live on their floor, and are also dedicated to helping students succeed academically, build lasting relationships, and make a permanent connection to the University community. So if there is a way that we can help you excel academically and personally, please let us know.
We will also provide the highest level of customer service possible and will do our absolute best to help you.
I look forward to getting to know you and if you have any questions that I can answer for you or help you get the answers to, please email me at SamuelJ@bridgeport.edu and I will get back to you as soon as possible. Thank you for choosing the University of Bridgeport.
Sincerely,
Samuel L. Johnson
