Register For Online Courses
Please read the following registration policies and procedures completely before registering:
Fall 2008 registration begins June 2, 2008
STEP 1: Applying For Admission
To register online you must be admitted into one of the programs below. If you have not yet applied for admission, then please vist our Getting Started page.

- IDEAL program (campus & online)
- Online B.S. Dental Hygiene
- Online B.S. General Studies
- Online M.S. Human Nutrition (NOTE: students taking Nutrition pre-requisite courses must complete the courses and be cleared by the Nutrition Institute to be eligible to register for graduate level courses)
- Special students (who want to take individual courses without completing a degree at UB, or who want to begin taking courses before being accepted into a degree program - for more information vist our Getting Started page.)
Step 2: Set Up Your UBNET Account
In order to register online, you will need to have your UBNET username and password. Keep in mind that your UBNET account (yourname@bridgeport.edu) is separate from your Blackboard account (ub_yourname).
- To set up a new UBNET account, visit http://www.bridgeport.edu/ubnet and select “New UBNET Account” on the left. You MUST wait 24 hours after setting up your UBNET account to be eligible to register.
- If you have a UBNET account and you cannot login or do not remember your UBNET username and password, visit http://www.bridgeport.edu/ubnet and select “Reset Password” on the left, and you will immediately receive a new password and your current username on your screen – print and save for future reference.
You can also use your UBNET account to check your UB email, access UB's online library, and view your grades. NOTE: You cannot access these services until 24 hours after you register:
STEP 3: Register For Classes
Registration is limited for all courses. Advance registration is strongly recommended. Specific course information can be found on the Online Course Schedule, which lists all online courses offered for the semester. You MUST wait 24 hours after setting up your UBNET account to be eligible to register. To register online:
- Visit http://www.bridgeport.edu/webadvisor then click on "Log In" on the top
- Enter your UBNET ID and password, then click "Submit"
You must login in order to register!
- Click on "Students" on right then "Register for Sections" under Registration
- Then click on "Search and register for sections"
- Enter your course information & go to the bottom of the page and click "Submit"
- Select your course(s) from the list by clicking on the box on the left under Select, then click "Submit"
- Select an Action on the left for each course on the list (typically RG Register), click "Submit" then "OK"
- You are now registered!
- If you need help with registration, you should contact the registrars office (registrar@bridgeport.edu) and your academic advisor for assistance.
STEP 4: Confirm Your Registration
Students will not receive written confirmation of registration. To confirm your registration:
- While in Webadvisor, click on "Students Menu" on top after registering
- Click on "My Class Schedule" on right (under Academic Profile)
- Select a term and click "Submit"
- The courses you have successfully registered for will be listed
STEP 5: Pay For Classes
Students are required to pay in full PRIOR to the first day of class and may NOT receive a bill before the course starts. To learn about tuition & payment options:
STEP 6: Starting Classes
Prior to starting classes, students should carefully read the following information:
- Know your course schedule.
- Get your textbooks.
- Check your UB email.
New students will receive an email one week prior to their first online course with Orientation instructions. Students only need to complete the Orientation once, prior to their first online course.
- Read the online course instructions.
STEP 7: Other Options
For more information:
- Dropping a course: Students dropping a course must complete the Online Course Withdrawal form below, and are subject to a semester registration fee and a course drop fee (see UB Tuition & Fees in Step 5), and after a course begins are subject to a loss of tuition (see Tuition Refunds below).
- Students utilizing Financial Aid should contact the Financial Aid office prior to dropping a course to determine the effect on their financail aid status!
- For Add/Drop deadlines, please contact your academic advisor and the Registrar's Office.
- Tuition Refunds: Based on the date a course is dropped, students may be eligible for a refund of some or all of the tuition. For more information refer to the UB Tuition Refund Policy
Online Course Withdrawal
(Click on the link above, enter your information, save to your computer for your records, then send to ubonline@bridgeport.edu)
- Incomplete coursework
Students unable to complete coursework during the official course dates may be eligible for an incomplete (see page 29 of the UB Catalog, Incomplete grade policy). Students should contact their academic advisor and instructor for assistance.
- Cancellation policy
UB reserves the right to cancel or reschedule courses, and to change instructors. Courses may be canceled prior to the course start date if less than the required minimum number of students are registered. If a course is canceled or rescheduled, students should contact their academic advisor immediately for assistance.
