Admission to the English Language Institute

After receiving a completed application and application fee of $35, ELI will send the applicant an acceptance letter. A student wishing to get a student visa must fill out the Affidavit of Financial Support on the second page of the ELI application and must include a bank statement showing enough money to pay for studies here. Once the student is accepted, ELI will send an I-20 form and arrival information to the mailing address provided by the applicant. With the I-20 form, the applicant can apply for a student (F-1) visa at a U.S. embassy or consulate.

Prospective students overseas should apply at least three months before they want to begin English studies. ELI can send out the acceptance and I-20 within a few days after receipt, but there can be long delays in getting a visa appointment and approval at the U.S. embassy or consulate.  To receive your acceptance and I-20 by express mail, submit $35. (thirty-five dollars) express fee in addition to the $35. application fee.

Prospective students who are U.S. permanent residents or citizens do not have to fill out the Affidavit of Financial Support or submit a bank statement.

Please contact us (by email is best) if your visa application is refused or you decide not to attend ELI after you have applied.
