Dear Prospective Student:

Thank you for your inquiry about the exciting and growing profession of naturopathic medicine. The University of Bridgeport College of Naturopathic Medicine (UBCNM) is the newest naturopathic medical college in the United States. It is the only naturopathic college on the East Coast and the only college established in a traditional university setting.

The University of Bridgeport is accredited by the Commission on Institutions of Higher Learning of the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC).  The College of Naturopathic Medicine is accredited by the Connecticut State Department of Higher Education to offer the degree of Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine.

 The program is four years full-time in length and culminates with a doctoral degree in naturopathic medicine (N.D.) All candidates for admission to the naturopathic medical degree program must furnish proof of having acquired a baccalaureate degree, taken in an accredited, degree-granting institution.  Successful applicants are expected to have a Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.0 or greater.  This applies to both the overall GPA and the science based prerequisites.  Applicants with a GPA below 3.0 may be considered for admission on an individual basis with special attention given to recent performance in science based prerequisite courses.The first two years of the naturopathic program focus on the basic medical sciences; the remaining two years concentrate on the clinical portion of the program. Clinic facilities are located on our campus with several satellite clinics in the surrounding area.
