iMSIT Instructional Technology Handbook
Contains the complete program description

The Master of Science Program in Instructional Technology (iMSIT) at the University of Bridgeport prepares students for three careers related to the discipline of Instructional Technology:
-
teaching using technology in the classroom
-
training using technology in business or industrial settings
-
development of educational software applications
The goals of the program (see Courses) are in keeping with the tenets of the University's Mission Statement, "dedicated to career enhancing, quality education" with a global perspective. Implicit in the program's design is a concern for multicultural perspectives on education and training, given the University's diverse international clientele (ranked #1 in diversity by U. S. News and World Report in 2001-2004). As a unit of the University's School of Education, and in keeping with its Mission statement, the program also seeks to serve the needs of educators in providing leading-edge technology enhanced instructional opportunities to their local and statewide constituents.
Unique to the program are its cohort-basis, whereby students will be selectively admitted as a group to complete curriculum requirements in their respective tracks, and blended instructional delivery mode, using a combination of live instruction (one-weekend-a-month) and online interaction via text/audio/video conferencing. A standard issue tablet computer with wireless networking capability and software bundle is another hallmark of the program (see Table Computer Requirements, Ordering).
