Senior Clinical Services Manager

Reporting to Vice Provost-Health Sciences, the Senior Clinical Services Manager coordinates the clinical operations for three varied groups of teaching clinics in health services.

  • Coordinates the clinical operations for three varied groups of teaching clinics in health services (Chiropractic, Naturopathic Medicine and Acupuncture).
  • Facilitates coordination between Clinic Directors and front desk personnel.
  • Troubleshoots and resolves problems that affect all clinical services. Researches issues relating to scheduling, billing and charge capture. Communicates with appropriate staff and/or clinicians and takes necessary measures to resolve issues.
  • Works in close cooperation with the clinic management team from each teaching clinic to:
    1. Create systems for the resolution of generalized patient problems.
    2. Ensure that patient visits and procedures meet clinical quality standards, ("best practices") and the standards of third party payers, managed care organizations and HMOs. Monitors clinic compliance with quality assurance guidelines and makes arrangements for implementation.
  • Sets up clinical systems for patient tracking, monitoring and insurance billing.
  • Acts as a coordinator and intermediary between the clinic personnel and UB Administration to communicate common clinical goals and needs. Works with various UB departments to achieve same including B & G, Finance, Provost, Marketing, IT, etc.
  • Coordinates general clinic outreach, public relations and advertising programs.
  • Acts as the on-site systems administrator for the Clinical Information System (CIS) utilizing networking experience. Provides clinical staff assistance and staff training as needed for new clinical supervisors.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Degree in Health Management or a related degree with at least 5 years experience as a Senior Clinical Services Supervisor required.
  • Previous management experience required within a large multidisciplinary practice required.
  • Background in insurance billing and CIS administration required.
  • At least five years experience in clinical practice management or coordination required.
  • Must possess strong interpersonal skills and be able to communicate effectively in person and in writing
  • Must be able to interact effectively with multiple constituencies.
  • Strong organizational skills to include the ability to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously (multi tasking), prioritize tasks, and complete assignments within expected time frames
