International Academic Programs

Through its Schools and Colleges, the University offers a variety of degree programs with an international focus.

The Core Curriculum

The courses of the University of Bridgeport's Core Curriculum are designed (and constantly being developed) to reflect the University's International Mission and Focus.  The First Year Seminar (FYS 101) includes readings from writers from around the world. The dynamic nature of the course encourages discussion, creative thinking and a free exchange of ideas in an atmosphere designed to prepare entering students for the experience of study in an international university.  Courses within the core, such as: World Music and Liberal Arts (MUSC 122), History of Art (ASDN 117), Our Environment the Earth (SCI C101), Humans and the Environment (SCI C102), Perspectives on Human Nature (HUM C201B), and the Capstone Seminar (CAPS 390) are designed to apprise students of cultural trends and of the need to address global challenges and foster intercultural communication and understanding.
