The Application Process (What Happens After You Apply)
Overview of the Application Process
Once we receive your application, we will create a folder with your name on it to store all the various supporting credentials we have received from you and begin to review and process your application. We will then send you an e-mail with your assigned UB identification number confirming that we received your application. If something is missing that we feel is needed to complete your application, we will contact you.
Each application is thoroughly reviewed by the International Admissions Committee before a final decision is rendered. We have no set "formulas" we follow when we review applications. Countless hours are devoted to the task of ensuring that every application is reviewed thoroughly and that every applicant has received full consideration in the admissions process.
Application Processing Time
The application processing time is usually 4-5 weeks from the date your application is received at the Office of International Admissions. Processing time may be extended if certain required academic or financial documents are missing from your application. Therefore, we recommend that you send us ALL of the required admission materials and documents in one package/envelope to avoid any unnecessary delays.
Processing time for the Master’s of Science in Computer Science and Computer Engineering applications is longer and might take up to 6-8 weeks.
Please Note
Due to high volume of applications we receive each year from all over the world, we are unable to respond to all inquiries regarding application and I-20 status. Please note that your application will NOT be processed any quicker if you call or e-mail our office.
