Many college students assume that writing is an art or talent. Therefore, in the University of Bridgeport composition program, we teach writing as a definable process, making them aware of tactics they can use to approach different writing situations. Students can then more easily adapt to the demands of different working environments and areas of interest.
The English faculty are responsible for all the composition courses (ENGL 100, 100I, 100A, and 101), which are required of all undergraduate students at the University. The English Department also offers ENGL 202 (Advanced Exposition), which is required of all students in the School of Business, and ENGL 204 (Technical Writing for Computer Engineers), which is required of all students in the Computer Science and Computer Engineering programs.
The composition faculty work with the Academic Resource Center to improve the writing of all undergraduate students at the University of Bridgeport.
