Philosophy
The aim of the Philosophy concentration is to help the student develop skills in critical and constructive thinking with respect to the deepest concerns of human beings. This is a valuable guide for all vocations devoted to the betterment of the human condition, including the law and education. The philosophy student investigates the important problems facing people and society through courses such as Existentialism, Animal Rights, and Peace and War. Interdisciplinary courses like Utopian Literature connect the concentration with the other disciplines in the Literature and Civilization major.
