Daytime M.S. Education/Certification Program
The University of Bridgeport’s Stamford and Waterbury Campuses offers an excellent educational option for stay–at-home parents, or those who work on an evening and/or weekend schedule. We call it the Daytime Masters in Education option. This is the same program as our popular M.S. Education program, just in a convenient Daytime format.
Classes meet once a week on:
Tuesdays from 9:30 am – 2:00 pm at the Waterbury Campus and
Wednesdays, from 9:30 am – 2:00 pm at the Bridgeport Campus.
Daytime students take 2 classes each fall and spring semester and one class, during the same time frame in our summer semester (mid May through June). The program can be completed in just over two years. Students attending classes at both campuses can complete their Master’s Degree in just one year in a daytime format. Students also have the option to add classes in the evening to accelerate their program.
The Daytime program is geared toward Elementary certification. All classes for the complete Master’s Degree are offered at each of our three campuses for the convenience of our students.
To complete their Connecticut certification, students must Student Teach for one semester (12 weeks).
There’s no reason to put your teaching aspirations on hold if you have school age children, or work a late day shift. Classes are offered in three semesters: fall, spring and summer. A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college is a minimum requirement.
